Piazza San Carlo
Piazza San Carlo is one of the main city squares in Turin, Italy.
It was laid out in the 16th and 17th century and is an example of Baroque style. Its current name is an hommage to Charles Borromeo while the square was previously known as Piazza Reale, Piazza d'Armi, and Place Napoleon.
The Caval 'd brons (piedmontese for bronze horse), equestrian statue of Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy, by Carlo Marochetti (1838), is located at the center of the square, that is surrounded by porticos designed by Carlo di Castellamonte around 1638. The twin churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo Borromeo close the southern edge of the square.
Stratta first opened its doors in 1836 as a confectionery shop and supplier to the Royal family and Count Camillo Benso di Cavour.
Today it is one of the most famous historic cafés in Turin, whose success rests on a fundamental value: the family.

Piazza Carignano
Pepino's story begins in 1884 when an artisanal gelato maker of Neapolitan origins, Domenico Pepino, decided to move north, more precisely, to Turin. In addition to bringing his family of ice creamers, he brought all the tools, molds and materials for producing and packaging his cold pastry specialties.
Within a few years, he opened an ice cream parlor. "Vera Gelateria Artigiana" - True Artisanal Gelato - served as the slogan, and it soon became the symbol of Turin's greatest cold pastry.
939 was a pivotal year in the company's history. After a long period of experimentation and study, Gelati Pepino finally patented and marketed the first gelato in the world to be served on a stick covered by chocolate: Pinguino® - the Penguin - (Patent No. 58033).
