The estimated time from any of the cities to Chichen Itza is about 2 to 2.5 driving hours, our vehicles are very comfortable for longer distances and stable enough to cut the times to 1:40min to 2 hours each way. It is good for you to know this driving time is EACH WAY so we focus on taking advantage of every minute reducing waiting times, movies and refreshments on board makes it more pleasant.

Our idea of departing early is to beat all possible crowd, this allows us to enjoy the property before its too warm to fully enjoy, the photos you will take will be clean from people and perfect brightness before sun is shinning all over the area. This way is easier to take advantage and wall all the areas open to public and visit all the temples that are restored and those that are not entirely before we feel is time to go for a cool down time at the cenote.

Same as in Chichen Itza we have advantage over most tours so the water will still be quiet for us to enjoy some peace, watch or hear the birds while relaxing and floting int these fresh bodies of water. As always you could choose from different options.

From all meal suggestions, the most prefered in our experience is a tradictional meal in a Mayan restaurant, a beautiful property surrounded by a very much alive garden where a mayan family will host and prepare our meal in the most local and traditional possible way. A brand new set of flavors for your taste.

After walking, swimming and having a meal could be good time to give closure to the day with a quick walk around Valladolid town in case souvenirs were desired or simply to enjoy an ice cream while sitting on the main square before heading back to the hotel.
