Leshan Giant Buddha (Da Fo)
Upon arrival at the Leshan Giant Buddha site, your guide will lead you on a fascinating exploration, sharing in-depth historical insights. Carved during the Tang Dynasty over 1,300 years ago, the Leshan Giant Buddha stands an impressive 71 meters tall, making it the largest stone Buddha statue in the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was crafted to calm the turbulent waters at the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu, and Qingyi Rivers.
During the 2 to 2.5-hour visit, you’ll walk along the winding pathways that hug the cliffside, offering up-close views of the Buddha’s serene face, enormous hands, and feet. You’ll also have the opportunity to admire the intricate carvings and inscriptions around the statue, as well as take in the panoramic views of the rivers below. After exploring the Buddha, you can visit the nearby Lingyun Temple to learn more about Buddhist culture and history in the region.

Baoguo Temple
Following your Leshan adventure, a 30-minute drive will take you to Mount Emei. Once you arrive, your guide will lead you to explore Baoguo Temple and Fuhu Temple before checking into your pre-booked hotel.
Your exploration begins at Baoguo Temple, the largest and most important temple at the base of Mount Emei. As you enter, your guide will explain that the temple was first built in the Ming Dynasty and later rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty, standing as a testament to over 700 years of Buddhist heritage. You'll stroll through its grand courtyards, admire the traditional Chinese architecture, and visit halls housing magnificent Buddha statues. Next, the journey continues to Fuhu Temple, nestled in a lush forest just a short distance away. The name "Fuhu" means "subduing tigers," and your guide will recount ancient tales of monks using their spiritual power to keep tigers at bay in this area.
