And we are in the town of Uchisar right now. We have castle in here. And this castle is the biggest rock formation around the Cappadocia. It was still being used by the villagers till 1970. But some part of the castle collapsed. And the government said from now on you must build your houses up there. And this castle was used mostly during the roman empire. Roman soldiers used the castle as a watchtower. They were going up and checking the enemies if they come or not. And why we call this town Uchisar! Uc means very top I mean summit. Hisar means a town or village. So here is the highest point of the region.

Zelve Open Air Museum
We will pass from the gates of museum then I will give you some information about there. After that we start to explore the churches together. Inside the churches it is forbidden to take photos with your cameras. And the other thing it is forbidden to speak inside the churches that’s why I explained all the things outside and you are going the visit them. Last thing, do not wait too much inside of the churches because there will be lots of people in there. The average time is about one minute to visit. When we visit 2 church, I will give enough time to see the other churches by yourselves. Please do not go anywhere before I give you free time.

Love Valley
Now we are going to the love valley. It takes about 5 minutes to reach there. In the love valley we will see some huge fairy chimneys. We will have a photo break like 10 or 15 minutes. Some of my guests wonder about why we call there like love valley. It does not have special meaning itself. But in 1980 when visitors came here as a couple, they used to go up there and enjoy the view with the wine. That’s why we call there love valley

Avanos
• Still in Avanos, visit an authentic family-run pottery workshop located in an underground cave. Clay from the Kızılırmak (Red) River was first used in pottery production by the Hitites prior to 1700BC and continues as an art form today. Watch a master demonstrate how to make a pot, and watch the the painters and glazers apply their delicate patterns. Have a go at the potter’s wheel yourself and make your own unique pot if you wish.
