Itinerary
1
Table Mountain Aerial Cableway
The modern cable car that rotates to transfer passengers from the lower station to the summit takes approximately five minutes, making for a smooth journey. It operates seven days a week, with excursions scheduled every ten to fifteen minutes. Throughout the year, the final excursion of the day occurs at a different time. There is a self-service buffet cafe at the top of the mountain, but you may also bring a picnic and explore the parts that are still designated as national parks.
Rock hyrax, lizards, butterflies, and the occasional porcupine can all be found here, 3,500 feet above the city. A wide range of animals, including eagles and sunbirds, can be seen soaring over extensive tracts of fynbos, the native vegetation of the Cape.

Company's Gardens
The 17th-century Cape Town Company's Garden is well-known for both its historical significance and its lush greenery. It was formerly a Dutch East India Company refreshment post before becoming a botanical garden. Today, it is a beautiful oasis in the heart of Cape Town, home to a diverse range of plants, including native species. The garden is a cultural hub, featuring historical landmarks such as the South African National Gallery and the Iziko South African Museum. It serves as a pleasant sanctuary, attracting both locals and visitors with its peaceful atmosphere, manicured grass, and well-kept walkways. The Company's Garden provides a pleasant setting for relaxing and appreciating nature and history, while also serving as a reminder of the city's colonial roots.

Iziko South African Museum and Planetarium
The name "hearth," or "Iziko" in isiXhosa, encapsulates the core of a reformed organization and our interpretation of "African Museums of Excellence." Traditionally and figuratively, the hearth is the center of social interaction in the home; it represents coziness, family, and the spirits of the ancestors. Iziko was designed to be a gathering place for all South Africans to feed their bodies and souls, as well as exchange information and stories passed down from generation to generation. At Iziko Museums, we strive to reproduce the "hearth" by creating friendly spaces for cross-cultural communication and involvement. We take great delight in fostering connections between our shared history, cultural heritage, and one another.

Iziko Slave Lodge
This historic building has gone under various titles during the last three centuries. When it was first built in 1679, the Dutch East India Company dubbed it the Slave Lodge. Between its creation until 1811, the Slave Lodge was said to have harbored up to 9,000 slaves, criminals, and mentally sick people. Captives worked as domestic workers, herdsmen, hunters, agricultural laborers, porters, drivers, personal attendants, and artists. Officials approved slavery under the name "inboekstelsel" and presented it as a sort of "apprenticeship," in which abandoned or orphaned young people were bonded as unpaid slaves until they reached their mid-20s.

Castle of Good Hope
We stop here at the Castle of Good Hope to start our day. The Castle of Good Hope, one of the oldest structures in South Africa, is a historical landmark that is still accessible to tourists. It depicts the historical occurrences that happened in the Castle around 350 years ago.
The experience includes the Canon Firing and the Key ceremony. Please take note that the Key Ceremony is weather dependent and takes place Monday through Friday. The Cannon Firing ceremony does not occur on a Sunday.
