Pinacoteca di Brera
Your tour guide for this marvellous experience is an expert in the history of art. You will be conducted through the thirty-eight rooms of the Pinacoteca di Brera, where the numerous masterpieces are displayed.
Your guide will explain something about the paintings and their artists. You will be mesmerized by Modigliani’s “Enfant Gras” – a painting of a boy with an extraordinarily long neck. Learn about the artistic technique used in Raphael’s “The Marriage of Figaro” with its evolutional use of mathematic relations to create perspective – a geometric canvas where the resultant harmony could only have been created by an artistic genius.
You will have the opportunity for a close up view of Francesco Hayez’s “Kiss” and learn that this is not surprisingly about romance but was created as a young nation’s symbol of love for the motherland and thirst for life; a nation that emerged following the Second War of Independence and placed so much hope for its future on the shoulders of its new rulers.
