The tour is intended to be conducted also in conditions of rain, wind and cold. However, if the forecasts arises some doubts that the weather conditions will not allow the normal taking place of the tour, it will be cancelled and participants will be notified

The route is about 25 km (15 miles) long, with a total elevation gain of 150 m (490 feet). Most of it follows roads with little traffic. Some sections of the route are unpaved or gravel. No special skills are required; you just need to be comfortable riding a bike.

To explore these areas, a bicycle is the best mode of transportation because it allows you to reach places inaccessible by car. The first part of the route heads up the Idro Valley to reach Giurdignano. From there, we head toward the Massi della Vecchia and then return to Otrant...

Otranto
After a short ride we will leave the beautiful city of Otranto behind for going into the Idro Valley. You will not believe how fast we will be far from the traffic and surrounded by nature. Indeed, this valley is characterized by its green sides quiet uncommon in this part of Puglia. This is the reason why humans settled here from prehistory. The firts stops of our journey will focus on some the past traces found throuoght this valley.

Giurdignano
Giurdignano's territory is known as Italy's Megalthic Garden due to the large amount of prehistoric dolmen and menhir that it has. We will admire some of these.

Amoung the most famous menhir, Menhir San Paolo is related to an small crypt of significant cultural value.

Massi della Vecchia
The Massi della Vecchia (translated "The Boulders of the Old Woman") are the result of an specific geomorphological process. In this quiete place we will be surrounded by nature and olive groves. It looks like a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

Going back to Otranto we will admire this church carved in the stone. Rest of a byzantine rock settlement.
