White Tower of Thessaloniki

The White Tower once part of the Byzantine fortifications was rebuilt during the Ottoman period. Today is the symbol of Thessaloniki which stands by itself on the seacoast.

Arch of Galerius
The triumphal arch known today as Kamara probably built between 298 A.D and 305 A.D to commemorate Galerius' victorious campaign against the Persians.
The structure consisted of eight piers arranged jn two parallel rows but today only three are preserved which two carry reliefs depicting scenes from the Romans' victorious campaigns against the Persians.

Rotunda
The emblematic monument of Thessaloniki, was constructed in the early 4th century A.D. on the turning point between the pagan with the Christian world, probably as a temple for ancient cult worship or as a mausoleum for Constantine the Great .
This circular, domed building can only be compared to the Pantheon in Rome.
not long after it was built and during the early years of the Byzantine Empire, the Rotunda was turned into a Christian church.

Church of Saint Dimitrios - Patron of Thessaloniki
This is the city's largest church ( UNESCO World Heritage) and the main sanctuary dedicated to its patron saint, Agios Dimitrios; it stands on the presumed site of his martyrdom 306 A.D. Restored after the fire of 1917, in line with the original architectural plans, the church has retained some features that are of incomparable historical and artistic interests.
