Ancient monuments of rare beauty and architectural marvels will take you on a journey back to antiquity. Acropolis comes from the words " Άκρον " , which means edge or highest point , and " Πόλις " , which means city

Propylaea is the monumental gateway of Acropolis .

The crowned jewel of Acropolis . The most famous monument in Greece , the Parthenon . Witness first hand history and art binding together to create a unique temple whose value and beauty survives through eternity . Parthenon was completely made out of marble and was dedicated to goddess Athena , the protector of the city .

Erectheion is another temple on the north side of Acropolis dedicated to goddess Athens and god Poseidon .

A temple dedicated to goddesses Athena and Nike . Nike according to greek mythology was the goddess of victory and Athena was worshipped in this form, representative of being victorious in war.

The Theatre of Dionysus(or Theatre of Dionysos) is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus (Dionysus the Liberator). The first orchestra terrace was constructed on the site around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, where it hosted the City Dionysia. The theatre reached its fullest extent in the fourth century BC under the epistates of Lycurgus when it would have had a capacity of up to 25,000.

The Odeon of Herodes Atticus (also called Herodeion or Herodion) is a stone Roman theatre structure located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. The building was completed in AD 161 and then renovated in 1950. The audience stands and the orchestra (stage) were restored using Pentelic marble in the 1950s. Since then it has been the main venue of the Athens Festival, which runs from May through October each year, featuring a variety of acclaimed Greek as well as International performances. Built by Herodus Atticus , in memory of his Roman wife Aspasia .

We continue our tour with another everlasting and historical monument , the Panathenaic or Kalimarmaro stadium . Where the first modern olympic games took place. The oldest stadium in the world that is still being used , and the only one entirely made of marble.

The Greek Parliament on top of Syntagma square right in the heart of Athens .

The tomb of the unknown soldier . A war memorial , dedicated to all the fallen Greek soldiers that died in battle . Guarded at all times by the famous presidential guards , Evzones. Witness the impressive change of the guards.

Last but not least we visit the Lycabettus Hill . A wonderful chance to review from above all the great monuments you admired throughout the tour. An amazing panoramic view of the city that stretches all the way to the sea and the Port of Piraeus .
