You will arrive at Akagera National Park around 11:00 AM, where you will receive a 30-minute briefing from the park warden while your driver-guide completes the check-in process. Once ready, you will embark on an exciting exploration of the park’s southern region. This part of Akagera offers an unforgettable safari experience, with breathtaking savannah landscapes teeming with wildlife. Expect to encounter elephants, zebras, buffaloes, and various antelope species, along with playful vervet monkeys. The nearby Lake Ihema provides an opportunity for a thrilling boat safari, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species, including the rare and majestic shoebill stork.
