Aiguestortes I Estany of Saint Maurici National Park
After presentations and review of the material, we will travel by taxi to the entrance of the National Park.
We will start the route in Pla d'Aigüestortes, following the course of the Sant Nicolau River to the refuge of Estany Llong. The trail ascends progressively between forests and high mountain meadows.
We will continue to Estany Llong, one of the more than 200 glacial lakes in the park, and continue to gain height to the viewpoint of Portarró, the highest point of the route. From here we will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the National Park, with the emblematic Estany de Sant Maurici as protagonist.
After a well-deserved rest, we will start the return by the same path, detouring to visit the Estany Redó before returning to the Estany Llong and descending to the starting point.
