Before arriving at our destination, we will briefly stop to visit Chullpares. These are buildings belonging to the Aymara and Quechua cultures where their loved ones were mummified and served as prayer centers for these people. These areas have been looted in recent decades but the original structures still stand.

Curahuara de Carangas
We arrived at Curahuara de Carangas, a town known as one of the folkloric capitals of Bolivia. Here your guide will take you to learn a little about the Andean culture and you will be able to visit the town church known as the Sistine Chapel of the Andes. Afterward, we will have lunch in this community.

Sajama National Park
After lunch, we will drive along the pavement for another hour and enter a dirt road that will take us to the entrance of the Sajama National Park. We will register and continue with our adventure. Continuing along the dirt road, our transport will take us through the national park where we will be able to appreciate spectacular views of the Andean flora and fauna, finally, we will arrive at the base of the volcano.

Acotango
Arriving at the base of the volcano we will begin a short walk to base camp. Here we will set up our tents and your guide will prepare a comforting dinner and give you the last instructions to prepare for the final ascent to the summit.
