Thermopylae
We will begin our tour from the city center Athens and we will drive to the first attraction of the day Thermopylae, known for the Battlefield of Thermopylae, where we will visit Thermopylae's Innovative Center of Historical Information and we will see the Statue of Leonidas.

Dion
Next, we will visit the small town of Dion. In ancient times this site used to be a place of worship of Zeus, the king of the gods of Mount Olympus, therefore it is known as "the town of Zeus".
In Dion there are various sanctuaries, such as the Temple of the goddess Demeter (the oldest Macedonian temple) and the Temple of goddess Isis and the Hellenistic theater, in which the Olympia nude games used to be held but now it is often used during the summer for performances of the Olympus Festival.

Vergina
The last attraction of the day will be in the small town of Vergina. Vergina is best known as the site of ancient Aigai, this town is considered as one of the most important archaeological discovery in all times, as it is the royal and first capital of Macedon. This ancient town was always a sight of interest for the archaeologists because according to ancient sources Aigai is described as one of the richest cities in the ancient world and a great spiritual center. The ancient site was discovered in 1976 and excavated under the leadership of archaeologist Manolis Andronikos. The excavation unearthed the burial sites of many kings of Macedon, including the tomb of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great, which, unlike so many other tombs, had not been disturbed or looted. It is also the site of an extensive royal palace. The archaeological museum of Vergina was built to house all the artifacts found at the site and is one of the most important museums in Greece.

Kalabaka
To end the first day of our tour we will stop and stay overnight in Kalabaka. A small town built at the foothills of the rocks of Meteora, filled with rich history and important monuments.
