This is the perfect place if you are someone who loves exploring historical and legendary places. The cemeteries are showing off their amazing structures and history. Next to that, the Myra Theater is gigantic and still in good condition to this day. Well worth a visit!

Myra Ancient City
The ancient city of Myra was once the Lycian capital, 1.5 kilometers from Demre, a modern farming city. The main product of the region is tomatoes. And now the southern plains of Myra are filled with greenhouses. The city sits at the base of a steep cliff. A beautiful tomb was built into the rock and sits high above. At the top of the cliff is a ruined Byzantine castle. The Turkish flag flutters over the ruins.

Church of St. Nicholas
St Nicholas Church is a must-visit if you are in Demre as it has important historical meaning. I recommend buying a ticket with audio guide or booking a tour. The church itself is quite small and parts of the church were closed for renovations.
