The 7 day Machame route approaches Kilimanjaro through forest and moorland from the south-west, and joins the Shira route before traversing beneath the southern ice fields of Kibo. The rainforest is extremely beautiful and there is a tangible sense of ‘wilderness’ once the higher elevations are reached. The views of Mt. Meru floating on the clouds are simply unforgettable, and we make our final ascent to the summit by the stunning Barafu route. The seven day itinerary gives maximum possible acclimatization, and also gives us plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent scenery

Machame Gate - Mount Kilimanjaro
After Breakfast, leave from Moshi to Machame Gate, where you will meet our porters and cooks who will spend the next seven days trekking with you to Uhuru Peak, the roof of Africa. Once you arrive at the gate you will have a chance to prepare and double check your trekking gears, while the staff and guides doing some registration.
Your first day’s destination will be at Machame Camp. Each day porters and cooks will walk ahead to set up the camp in time for your arrival. On the first day you will hike through the moss-covered trees of Kilimanjaro’s cloud forest. The forest will thin at the end of the hike and vegetation will change to include heathers, tall grasses and wildflowers. If the weather is clear, you can see the surrounding area and your ultimate destination Kibo Peak.
