The tour starts with a morning drive of around 3 hours, out of Addis Ababa and south through the green Rift Valley to the lakeside town of Ziway.

Here, you’ll stop for lunch and have some time to explore the town and lakeside which is a great place to spot birds and watch the world go by.

Leaving Ziway, you’ll then continue south and further into the rift valley to Hawassa, another pleasant lakeside town, where you’ll spend the night in a local hotel. Don’t miss out on the delicious fresh-caught local fish and a stroll along the shore to see the sunset.
