Delhi Arrival

Quṭb Mīnār, among the tallest minarets in Asia, was built in Delhi beginning at the turn of the 13th century by Quṭb al-Dīn Aibak and completed by his successor, Iltutmish. As the mīnār (tower) of the Qūwat-ul-Islām mosque, the Quṭb Mīnār serves the traditional purpose of being the place from which the faithful are called to prayer. An inscription on the tower indicates that it also served as a victory monument.

Humayun’s Tomb, located in Nizamuddin, Delhi, is a striking example of early Mughal architecture and the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. Commissioned by Empress Bega Begum (Haji Begum) in 1565–69, it was built to honor her husband, Emperor Humayun, and cost around 1.5 million rupees. Designed by Persian architect Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, the mausoleum combines red sandstone with white marble, stands on a raised platform, and is topped by a graceful double dome

The Lotus Temple in New Delhi is a stunning Baháʼí House of Worship, renowned for its unique architecture that resembles a blooming lotus flower. Designed by Iranian-Canadian architect Fariborz Sahba, it was completed and opened in December 1986

The India Gate, standing at a majestic 42 metres (138 ft) high on the eastern end of Delhi’s ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, is a renowned war memorial designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It was built to honour the bravery and sacrifice of over 70,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who died in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War between 1914 and 1921, with around 13,300 names inscribed on its walls

Jama Masjid, officially known as Masjid‑i Jahān‑Numā (“World‑Reflecting Mosque”), is one of the largest and most iconic mosques in India. It was constructed between 1644 and 1656 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, with over 5,000 artisans working on it and costing around one million rupees of that era .

Parliament House, also known as Sansad Bhavan, is the iconic circular building in Lutyens’ Delhi that serves as the seat of the Indian Parliament, accommodating both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker, its foundation was laid in 1921, and it was inaugurated in January 1927 by Governor‑General Lord Irwin (Drive Pass)

The Taj Mahal, an ivory-white marble mausoleum located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was commissioned by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1631. The central tomb was completed by 1648, with surrounding structures and gardens finished around 1653, involving over 20,000 artisans from across India and Central Asia
