Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
Buddha's sacred tooth relic was brought to the island from India and has remained in the possession of royalty. The relic was preserved in Kandy in a structure built by Vimmaladarmasurya, the capital's founder. It was then moved to a new and rebuilt structure by his successors. The temple is erected on top of the moat, and a stone s.tairTheway leads through a tunnel to the drummers' courtyard. A two-story building faces the visitor, the upper floor of which houses the gem-studded gold casket carrying the Buddha's sacred tooth relic

Kandy View Point
Climb the hill next to Kandy Lake to reach Kandy Perspective Point, which offers an unrivaled view of the city. As a major tourist destination, the region attracts a huge number of peddlers, many of whom sell low-quality goods. Keep a watch on your stuff because the neighborhood is known for its strong pickpocket activity. Great views of the lake and the city as a whole can be had from the top of the hill.

Kandy Lake
Kandy Lake, also known as Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk, is an artificial lake in the centre of Kandy, Sri Lanka, established by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1807 near to the Temple of the Tooth. Its size has shrunk throughout the years. Fishing is not permitted in this protected lake. The lake is the subject of many myths and stories. One example is the little island in the center of the island, which was used for swimming by the king's helm and was connected to the palace via a secret tunnel.
