Our tour starts with an early pick-up at 5:00 am from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. We recommend ordering a breakfast box from your hotel due to the early departure. We then begin our 259 km drive to El Alamein, which takes approximately 3 hours. Along the way, we will stop for a coffee break to stretch our legs. El Alamein was a strategic location during World War II, with the Axis powers attempting to dominate Egypt and control the sea routes to Britain's colonial empire. The town of Al Diffa saw significant battles, and we will explore the historical significance of this region upon our arrival at 8:30 am.

El Alamein War Museum
For anyone interested in war memorabilia, a stop at the small El Alamein museum is worth the visit. Located about 1 mile west of the British memorial, on the north side of the road, the museum was created in 1965 from debris found on the battlefield. It contains an impressive collection of uniforms, weapons, flags, and other war paraphernalia. Additionally, there are photographs and displays showcasing the battle sites, providing a unique insight into the region's history. If you're interested in the Second World War and the battles fought in this area, the El Alamein museum is a must-visit during your trip to Egypt.

El Alamein War Cemetery
The El Alamein War Cemetery is a sobering reminder of the human cost of war. Designed by Sir Herbert Worthington, the cemetery is maintained by the British War Graves Commission in Cairo. It is the final resting place of 7,367 soldiers from Britain, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Greece, France, India, and Malaysia, who are buried in individual graves. In addition, 11,945 soldiers whose bodies were never found are honored in the cloister preceding the graveyard. The individual graves are topped with white markers, and approximately 815 soldiers have been identified, with their names inscribed on their graves. A visit to this cemetery is a moving experience and a fitting tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for their countries.

El Alamein War Cemetery
Located three kilometers west of the Italian marker, the German war memorial is a solemn tribute to the German soldiers who lost their lives during the Second World War. The memorial is a single octagonal building, patterned after the Castle del Monte, and overlooks the sea. Erected in 1959, it contains the bodies of 4,280 German soldiers. At the entrance stands an impressive golden mosaic, and to the right of the entrance is a small chapel where families and friends can honor the dead with wreaths, photographs, and memorial ribbons. A visit to the German war memorial is a somber reminder of the human cost of war and an opportunity to pay respects to those who gave their lives.

El Alamein War Cemetery
The Italian Memorial at El Alamein is a striking structure, the largest at the site, standing 5 kilometers beyond the German Memorial. Designed by Paolo Caccia Dominioni, who served at El Alamein and wrote a book about it, the elegant white marble monument is a tribute to the 4,800 Italian soldiers, sailors, and airmen who lost their lives during the war. Inside the entrance, visitors can explore a small museum, and in the chapel, the inscription reads: "To 4800 Italian soldiers, sailors, and airmen, the desert and the sea did not give back 38,000 who are missing." The main memorial overlooks the sea, offering a peaceful and contemplative space to reflect on the sacrifices made during the war. A light lunch will be served on the way, and visitors can enjoy the sunset at Fatnas Lake, a beautiful spot in the Siwa Oasis.
