Betty's Bay
We depart from Cape Town at 8am and travel along the very scenery Whale Coast until we reach Betty's bay where we see a huge population of the very rare African Penguins.
Here we see the African Penguins. Betty's Bay is a small coastal town located in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is home to a colony of African Penguins, also known as Jackass Penguins, which are the only penguin species found on the African continent.
Betty’s Bay is also known as Stony Point Penguin Colony. There is a huge population of the African Penguin. The penguins can be seen up close as they waddle around, swim in the nearby ocean, and nest in the shelter of the surrounding vegetation.

Hermanus
From Betty's Bay we proceed to Hermanus which is half an hour away. Hermanus, known as the world capital for whale watching is a beautiful coastal town. We take a brief tour of Hermanus and its beaches. It is quite possible we could spot some whales if its in season.
Hermanus is a seaside town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, known for its stunning natural beauty, whale watching, and charming small-town atmosphere.
Hermanus is known as one of the best places in the world for land-based whale watching. Southern right whales visit the town's shores from June to December each year, and visitors can see these majestic creatures from the cliffs and beaches in and around the town.

Knysna
From Hermanus we embark on a 4 hour drive passing the towns of Swellendam, Mossel Bay and Wilderness en-route to Knysna.
Knysna is the center of the Garden Route and this is where we base ourselves for the 3 nights. Knysna is situated between lush forests and the beautiful Knysna lagoon, which opens up to the Indian Ocean. Knysna is home to many attractions such as the Knysna Heads, a set of two cliffs that flank the entrance to the lagoon. There are many outdoor activities available in Knysna, such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, and cycling.
