You can also be picked up at your hotel in Jaisalmer. Begin your sightseeing tour of Jaisalmer city. Your first stop is the Jaisalmer Fort - famously known as Golden Fort of Rajasthan. It was constructed by Raja Jaisal, Rajput ruler in 1156 AD. It ranks among the largest forts in the world. The golden and yellow mixed sandstone offer magical look into the fort which sits high about the sand. It features 99 turrets and displays Rajasthani architecture, which is a spectacular sight especially at night.
