Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil - Tinerhourhine (L, D)
After pickup from your Marrakech hotel at about 8:30am, travel by private vehicle south toward the High Atlas Mountains. After approximately 2-hours, arrive in the village of Imlil beneath the Atlas’ highest peak, Jebel Toukbal. Meet your guide and mule team, hire trekking poles (own expense) if required, and after your luggage is loaded, begin your trek.
Follow mule paths through lush valleys, passing gurgling streams and admiring the spectacular High Atlas peaks. Pass the village of Tamatert, and enjoy lunch in the cool Tizi n’ Tamatert pass, at 7,477 feet (2,279 meters) before walking to Ouanesekra-Tamguist and the Berber village of Tinerhourhine. Enjoy dinner and spend tonight in a gite. Approximate walking time: 4 hours. Overnight: Gite in Tinerhourhine
