Nevado Ausangate
We pick you up directly from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 am and travel by private vehicle for approximately 3.5 to 4 hours through beautiful Andean landscapes and traditional villages to the community of Upis at 4,250 m / 13,944 ft.
After breakfast, we begin our hike through wide valleys with stunning views of Ausangate Mountain (6,372 m / 20,900 ft). This first day is ideal for acclimatization, with a gradual hike surrounded by glaciers, alpacas, and high-altitude scenery.
We arrive at Upis Camp near the natural hot springs at 4,400 m / 14,435 ft. After lunch, you have free time to relax in the thermal baths while enjoying panoramic mountain views. Dinner is served at camp, followed by an overnight stay under the stars.
