Gondar – Simien Mountains (Sankaber Camp)
After hotel checkout or arrival at Gondar airport, we drive to Debark, gateway to the Simien Mountains. Here, we arrange park entry and meet our scout. If time allows, enjoy tea or coffee and visit the local market—especially vibrant on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
From Debark, we drive 16km to the park gate, then continue to the trek’s starting point (flexible based on interest and time). Expect stunning escarpments, unique flora, and encounters with endemic Gelada baboons. You may also spot klipspringers, bushbucks, and various bird species. The trek concludes at Sankaber Camp, where we spend the first night.
