Ta Prohm
This temple was built in the Bayon style in the late 12th and early 13th century. Ta Prohm was originally built as a Buddhist monastery and university. One of the unique features of Ta Prohm is that it has largely been left to the jungle and the trees are literally growing right through the middle of the temple. Ta Prohm is one of the most popular temples in Siem Reap as it was used as the location for the Tomb Raider movie featuring Angelina Jolie.

Ta Keo
Ta Keo was built as the state temple for Jayavarman V and he started construction in 975 AD. Unusually, the temple was never finished. There are many stories as to why Ta Keo was never completed, but nobody knows the real reason.
Nowadays, Ta Keo is quite a popular temple with visitors because of its sheer size – five sanctuary towers sit on top of a 22m stepped pyramid.

Phnom Bakheng
Phnom Bakheng is a temple mountain dedicated to Shiva. It was built by King Yasovarman at the end of the 9th century. Phnom means hill or mountain in English and as such, Phnom Bakheng was built at the top of a hill. This hill is perfect to see the panoramic view of Angkor Wat and watching the sunset but very crowded. If you would like to watch sunset today we recommend Southern Gate of Angkor Thom .
