Venture into the highest and purest alpine lake in South West China - Lugu Lake. Visit the Mosuo village to explore unique cultures like “walking marriage”, matriarchal society and more. You will also experience their custom and ceremony by having lunch with a local family and joining the bonfire party. With our private 2-day package including round trip transfer it's definitely easier to make the most of the Pearl of the Plateau.
Set off from Lijiang in the morning. The coach ride from Lijiang to Lugu Lake takes approximately 4 hours. We will enjoy the stunning views as we drive on the winding mountain road with 18 bends in Lining; make a 10-minute stop at the Jinsha River observation deck to see the magnificent river and have a panoramic view of the beautiful Lugu Lake from Lugu Lake observation deck for half an hour. You can have lunch (own expense) once arrive at the hotel.

Lugu Lake
You will have two options to choose for the afternoon activity. 1. Take the Mosuo people’s unique means of transportation - Pig trough boat to tour the picturesque lake, and also visit an island called Liwubi in the middle of the lake which has a temple. 2. Take the round-the-lake bus which is one of the best way to make the most of the lake, including visits to Lion Hill, Lovers Beach, Rieger Peninsula and more attractions.
