This two days safari takes you to the most celebrated UNESCO world heritage area in Tanzania; the Ngorongoro Crater as well as Tarangire National Park a world famous safari park for its unusual herds of elephants. The park and Ngorongoro Crater are not very far from each other and with a range of accommodations having set up at Karatu (just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation), you can do a very rewarding safari in Tanzania in just 2 days and one night stay at one of the many lodges found around Karatu area or even the Mto wa Mbu and Lake Manyara area which is actually midway between the two wildlife areas.

The park and Ngorongoro Crater are not very far from each other and with a range of accommodations having set up at Karatu (just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation), you can do a very rewarding safari in Tanzania in just 2 days and one night stay at one of the many lodges found around Karatu area or even the Mto wa Mbu and Lake Manyara area which is actually midway between the two wildlife areas.
You will leave Arusha at around 08:00 for Tarangire National Park, you will pass by Arusha town for any last minute purchase before heading to the bush. The driving will be across beautiful Masai steppe and many village, reaching Makuyuni junction, you will take the road to left and drive along Arusha – Dodoma highway toward Tarangire National park, a drive is of about 2:30 hrs on tarmac road. At the gate it will take you less than 15 minutes for your driver to sort out some park formalities. Game drives will start right from the gate, you may anticipate to see many animals & birds including the rare species of Great Kudu, Fringed-Eared Oryx as well as the Ash Stalling.
Tarangire national park is famous for its elephant population of about 6000 wondering around Tarangire Lake Manyara ecosystem, huge baobab tree and tree climbing python is one of the highlight in this park.
Your safari driver guide will take you to the best wildlife viewing areas at the river bank & Lake shore where most of animals are gathering for water & green pastures. Tarangire River & the dam on the southwest corner of the park are the only permanent sources of water in the entire park supporting a larger number of wildlife including eland, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra and lots of birds. Lion, leopard, hyena. Jackals, cheetahs can also be seen here. Packed lunch will be served inside the park. Later afternoon drive across Lake Manyara gate & up to the Great Rift Valley escarpment, you will stop at Lake Manyara view point for washroom and some nice pictures of Lake Manyara & it’s forest during the sunset. Afterward proceed to Country Lodge at the Ngorongoro highlands for dinner and overnight.
