It`s mostly driven through the mountains (3500-5000m ASL) of The High Caucasus. During the tour You`ll get a chance for several nature stops, such as: Zhinvali Reservoir, view point at Jvari pass and Gudauri ski resort (in the winter time). The first stop at Jvari church will allow us a visit to the cultural heritage of the world (6th century) and amazing views on the mountains and an old capital city of Mtskheta. You`ll be told a historic background of the church and the old capital city as well as ancient history of Georgia. Later we`ll move to the Great Georgian military highway and reach over 400 Y.O., well preserved fortress of Ananuri, with the beautiful background of the Pre-Caucausus mountains and Zhinvali lake.
