Wir werden die kleine Stadt Pienza besuchen. Pienza ist eine kleine Stadt im Herzen der Toskana in Italien, die für ihre Renaissance-Architektur und atemberaubende Aussicht auf das Val d'Orcia bekannt ist. Aufgrund ihrer perfekten Gestaltung wird sie oft als „ideale Stadt“ bezeichnet und im 15. Jahrhundert von Papst Pius II. neu gestaltet. Das historische Zentrum der Stadt ist ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und berühmt für seine charmanten engen Gassen, atemberaubenden Plätze und wunderschönen Gebäude wie die Kathedrale von Pienza und den Palazzo Piccolomini. Pienza ist auch für seinen Pecorino-Käse bekannt, eine lokale Delikatesse.

Am Ende der Tour besteht die Möglichkeit, einen kurzen Halt in der Therme Bagno Vignoni einzulegen. Dort gibt es sowohl kostenlose Naturthermen als auch luxuriöse 5-Sterne-Resorts!

The Chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta is one of the most iconic landmarks in the Val d’Orcia, set among rolling hills between Pienza and San Quirico d’Orcia. Its present form dates to a 19th-century redesign by Giuseppe Partini, while the surrounding cypress trees create one of Tuscany’s most celebrated views.

Bagno Vignoni is a charming medieval village in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, famous for its unique central square, occupied by a large thermal pool fed by hot springs known since ancient times. Located along the Via Francigena, it became a renowned resting place during the Middle Ages and welcomed figures such as Saint Catherine of Siena and Lorenzo de’ Medici. Its warm waters still shape the village’s timeless atmosphere.
