You’ll have time to stroll through the town, browse traditional shops and antiques stores, visit the impressive 15th-century St John the Baptist Church, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this historic market town before continuing deeper into the Cotswolds.

Bibury is widely considered one of the most beautiful villages in England and is famous for its picture-perfect stone cottages along Arlington Row. Dating back to the 14th century, these historic weavers’ cottages sit beside a gentle stream and create one of the most photographed scenes in the Cotswolds.
You’ll have time to wander along the river, take photos of the iconic cottages, and enjoy the peaceful countryside setting that has inspired artists and photographers for generations.

In the evening you can enjoy a quiet stroll through the village, visit the historic churchyard of St Mary’s with its famous yew trees, or relax with dinner at one of the excellent local pubs or restaurants. Staying overnight in Painswick allows you to experience the Cotswolds after the day visitors have gone, when the village becomes especially calm and atmospheric.
