It' s a famous area for the production of a white wine named Vernaccia di Sangimignano and for the production of a high quility saffron still produced by the original biologic process. The Duomo "La Collegiata", built in 1200, is an important example of medieval architecture and hosts, inside, very important masterpieces dating back the middle age.
