start from your hotel in Marrakech in the early morning. As we travel, we make our way over the dramatic High Atlas Mountains, passing through mountain pass roads at up to 2,260 metres at the peak of the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. We’ll take time to stop at panoramic viewpoints and visit the mythical Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site/ famous movie location. Following lunch by Ait Ben Haddou, we drive past Ouarzazate, nicknamed the “Hollywood of Africa,” and through Valley of Roses.
As we near the desert, everything has changed significantly. We reach Merzouga by the late afternoon and your camel will be waiting. You’ll have a ride in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes, see a stunning desert sunset and arrive to your luxury or standard desert camp. End your day with a delicious dinner around campfire and listen to the sounds of Berber music and gaze upon the twinkling stars, then retire to your tent.
