Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings is an ancient Egyptian necropolis near Luxor where pharaohs of the New Kingdom (18th–20th Dynasties) were buried in rock-cut tombs. Designed to be more hidden and secure than the traditional pyramids, the valley became a royal burial ground and contains over 60 tombs, including that of Tutankhamun. Its location on the west bank of the Nile was symbolic, as the west was associated with the setting sun and the afterlife.

Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
The Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as Deir el-Bahari, is a mortuary temple located at Deir el-Bahari on the west bank of Luxor, across the Nile from Karnak. Built for the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, this remarkable structure is famous for its unique design of three terraces that blend into the cliffs behind it. It features stunning architectural details and reliefs, and despite suffering damage and attempted erasure of its inscriptions, it has been largely restored and stands today as a testament to her reign .

Colossi of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III located on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor, Egypt. Originally built to guard his mortuary temple, these 3,400-year-old statues have survived earthquakes that destroyed the temple behind them. In ancient times, one statue was known as the "Vocal Memnon" because it emitted a humming sound at sunrise, a phenomenon now attributed to the stone cracking and a subsequent restoration that stopped it.
