After moving from Baixa into Lisbon's oldest quarter, we will get to this viewpoint, so we can have a moment to overlook Alfama, one of Europe's longest inhabited neighborhoods.

After exploring Alfama, we will pass by Lisbon's Cathedral, dating back to the XIIth cnetury.

The walking trhough Lisbon's city center will end at the Commerce Square. Once the Royal's headquarters of king D. Manuel I (Paço da Ribeira), it's remodeled following the earthquake, becoming the house of several state departments until today.

After taking the tram, we will take you to Lx Factory, where you will have some free time to wonder around and eat something. Located in the Alcântara neighborhood, a former industrial area of the Portuguese capital, this cultural hub was renovated in 2008 and today embodies innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, with an industrial aesthetic.

After lunch time in Alcântara, we will catch the tram so we can start our afternoon in Belém. The first stop will be the Tower of Belém, one of the fortifications built in the early sixteenth century from where explorers embarked and disembarked during the maritime expansion.

Conceived already during the early dictatorship for the 1940's Portuguese World Exhibition, this Monument of the Discoveries depicts the celebration of the maritime expansion during the 15th and 16th centuries.

A masterpiece of Portuguese architecture, the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Belém, commonly known as Jerónimos Monastery, was commissioned by King Manuel (1595-1521).
