Our accredited tour guide will meet you at your location and accompany you onboard a vehicle to Ndem village in the Baol region ( around 2 hours drive).There you will have a guided walking tour to visit this village and get immersed up into the Wolof local culture one of the major tribe in Senegal.The Baol region located at the central area of Senegal used to be a Wolof kingdom in the XVl century.Wolof people are mainly farmers, sellers and Muslims.Ndem is now considered as an eco-friendly village that uses only clean energy like solar to provide electricity.Thanks to a prominent member of their community many development projects are being carried on like water supply for agriculture and drinkable water, building social infrastructure like school.Besides the community has opened a cloth factory to provide employment to local young people and to help grow the local economy.Most clothes made in their factory are sold in big cities and some are exported to Europe.

Touba
Our accredited tour guide will continue the trip with you and accompany you to Touba (1 hour drive).
Touba is the major city in the Baol region.It is the capital of the Mouridisme bortherhood a branch of the suffi order that was founded by Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba who is seen also as a symbol of resistance against French colonisation in Senegal.You will have a guided visit of the impressive big mosque of Touba that is built by the Mourid brotherhood.The local guide will explain you the history of this brotherhood and how it works.He will make also a presentation of the differents Khalifa that led the Mourid community.There is a big pilgrimage every year that draws many people from worldwide to celebrater the founder of the Mourid brotherhood Cheik Ahmadou Bamba Mbacké.
His teachings are focused on hard working, tolerance, knowledge and prayers.
You will have a short break for lunch in a local restaurant.

Lompoul Desert
Our accredited tour guide will escort you towards Lompoul desert driving across savana landscape ( around 2 hrs drive). Upon your arrival in the late afternoon you will check in a lodge hotel.Then you will have a guided walking tour around the beautiful sand dunes and observe the wonderful sunset.This small desert that covers an area of 18 km2 is a perfect getaway for relaxation and hiking.
You can also enjoy some optional leisure activities like camel riding or motorbike riding.
