Arachova
Arachova is a picturesque mountain town located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus in central Greece, about two hours northwest of Athens. It is famous for its traditional stone houses, narrow streets, and lively atmosphere, especially in winter when it serves as a popular ski and holiday destination.
Often called the “Mykonos of the Winter,” Arachova combines natural beauty with cosmopolitan charm. Visitors can enjoy the nearby Parnassos Ski Center, explore the ancient site of Delphi (just 10 km away), and taste local specialties such as formaela cheese, trahana, and local wines.
The town also has vibrant nightlife, cozy guesthouses, boutique shops, and a beautiful view over the valley of Delphi. Arachova is an ideal destination for both relaxation and adventure throughout the year.

Löwe von Chaironeia
The Lion of Chaeronea is an ancient marble monument located near the town of Chaeronea in Boeotia, central Greece. It was erected to commemorate the Battle of Chaeronea, which took place in 338 BC between the Macedonian army of Philip II (father of Alexander the Great) and the allied Greek city-states of Athens and Thebes.
The monument is a large stone lion, about 3.5 meters tall, symbolizing courage and heroism. It was discovered in pieces in the 19th century and later reconstructed. The Lion is believed to mark the burial site of the Sacred Band of Thebes, an elite military unit of 300 soldiers who fought bravely but were all killed in the battle.
Today, the Lion of Chaeronea stands as a symbol of bravery, unity, and sacrifice. It is one of the most important historical monuments of ancient Greece and a moving reminder of the cost of war.
