Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the biodiversity capital of Peru, our staff will welcome you at the airport (flights must arrive before 1:00 p.m.). After a brief city tour, board our riverboat and cruise along the Lower Madre de Dios River to our Amazon lodge, enjoying beautiful rainforest scenery and the chance to spot wildlife such as capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants, and birds of prey. Upon arrival, enjoy a refreshing tropical drink before settling into your comfortable bungalow and savoring a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, join a guided nature walk to Caiman Cocha, where you may observe black caimans and spectacled caimans in their natural habitat. End the day with a breathtaking Amazon sunset, followed by dinner and free time to relax at the lodge while listening to the magical sounds of the rainforest.
