We´ll start this adventurous tour by picking you up in your hotel lobby at 7:00 am. We will make a comfort stop on the road. Then, we´ll continue our way to Iximché Archeological Site.

Iximche served as the capital of the Kaqchikel Maya kingdom from the late 15th century until the Spanish conquest in the early 16th century. The site is nestled amidst lush green hills and offers visitors a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the Maya civilization. Visitors to Iximché can explore well-preserved ruins, including ceremonial platforms, ball courts, and temples. Iximché was an important political and religious center for the Kaqchikel Maya, where rituals, ceremonies, and political gatherings were held. The site's strategic location provided panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, making it an ideal setting for strategic purposes. In addition to its archaeological significance, Iximché remains an important cultural and spiritual site for the Maya people. Ceremonies and rituals are still held here by indigenous locals, preserving the ancient traditions and heritage of the region.

We'll move to Panajachel, the main city of Atitlan's lake where we’ll get stunning views of the volcanoes. Getting to Panajachel will be a 2-hour trip and then we´ll explore this wonderful town.

We will end the day in San Juan or San Pedro La Laguna so you can rest and prepare for day 2. Please note that we recommend staying in San Juan or San Pedro La Laguna for our second day's activity as this gives us access to start our activity smoothly.
