This has to be one of the most unique slot canyons in Southern Utah. It has beautiful stripes on the walls of the canyon that make this a photographer's dream. With a 5-mile round trip hike make sure to bring water. It is a short slot canyon but well worth the hike. This canyon can hold a bit of water at times after very heavy rains. The Cosmic Ashtray is a geologic wonder located in Sothern Utah's Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. This formation was carved through years of friction and sand. This tour is located deep into the heart of the Grand Staircase. Travel by 4x4 vehicle to a trailhead. Then hike 4 miles through the desert to arrive at this amazing geologic wonder. This tour will require hikers to be in good physical condition.

Egypt 1 offers a lot packed into a short approach and exit. Those with high skill levels can downclimb the entire canyon. Others will do 3 short rappels. The narrows are quite good, and the challenges just hard enough to keep it interesting. With competent leadership, this is a great family or beginner friendly canyon. The downclimbs yield fairly easily to team work and partner catches / assists. Though this canyon can hold a bit of water at times after very heavy rains. Tours are conditional to weather.
