The luau is held at the beautiful Mauna Lani, Auberge Collection at Kalāhuipuaʻa, which is a historical area where ancient Hawaiians mastered the art of aquaculture and where King Kamehameha came to recuperate and work in the fishponds. Guests are welcomed with a traditional Oli (chant) in preparation for preliminary activities with the cast. After the activities, watch as the pig is taken out of the traditional imu pit before it is prepared for the Hawaiian buffet. Roselle is a tropical plant historically used for medicinal purposes and still has many health benefits today. Actively enjoy both our indoor hydroponic farm and outdoor garden we use for multiple edible varieties. Savor the taste of each of our specialty products grown, harvested and produced right here on the farm. Immerse yourself in a behind the scenes tour of our farm with a 45-minute light walking tour with firsthand explanations from the owner, followed by hibiscus tea and other unique snacks. Big Island: Farm to Table Cooking Class at Kulaniapia Falls
Experience farm to table in an incredibly personal and authentic way, led be a member of our community who is passionate about growing food, and sharing it with others. We grow over 30 types of food, and will harvest fresh produce together. We will use whatever is in season to make a delicious meal together! After harvesting, we will prepare our meal in our barns beautifully finished loft, with views of Hilo Bay and Mauna Kea.
Happening at our farm you will learn how to brew your coffee at home like a pro. Our experience barista will provide all the basic knowledge necessary for brewing. Coffee brewing can be very simple with very little equipment and it can change the way you taste coffee. During this workshop we will brew the same coffee three different ways, and you will experience the differences of taste. All this is happening in our roasting room where you will also be able to see the roaster. And if you have time you can also add a free farm tour before or after the workshop.
