Kintsugi host Toshie’s studio is centrally located downtown in the garage/warehouse that her carpenter father and artist mother previously used as their studio. Displays of her parents’ works infuse the studio’s atmosphere with the warmth of an artistic family’s history. Toshie studied fashion art prior to moving into jewelry design. She studied metal chasing in New York, designed jewelry for a prominent Tokyo atelier, and focused on a hands-on approach to jewelry making.
