1
متحف دومونت
Visit the most powerful WWI memorial in Europe, containing the remains of over 130,000 unidentified French and German soldiers. Walk along the exterior gallery, observe the bones visible through the ground-level windows, and pay respects at the adjacent military cemetery with its 16,000 white crosses.

2
خندق الحراب
One of the most extraordinary and haunting sites on the Verdun battlefield. In June 1916, an entire section of French soldiers was buried alive in their trench by an artillery shell while standing at their posts. Their bayonets still protrude from the ground today, marking the spot exactly as it was. A protected monument, free to visit, located just 2 minutes from the Ossuary.

3
فلوري ديفانت دومونت
One of nine villages completely obliterated during the Battle of Verdun and never rebuilt. Today, only a forest remains where homes, a church, a school and streets once stood. Signposts mark the exact locations of former buildings, allowing visitors to walk through the ghost of a community that disappeared in 1916. A deeply sobering and unique experience found nowhere else in the world.

نصب فردان التذكاري
Built on the actual battlefield of Fleury-devant-Douaumont, this fully renovated museum immerses visitors in the experience of the soldiers who fought here. Spread across three floors, the museum features over 2,000 original objects, powerful audiovisual displays, French and German soldier testimonies, artillery pieces and vehicles from the Voie Sacrée. The rooftop terrace offers a panoramic view over the preserved battlefield landscape.

5
Gros Ouvrage Maginot du Hackenberg
The largest Maginot Line fort open to the public, located just 40 km from Metz. Board the original underground electric ammunition train and travel deep into 10 km of tunnels to discover artillery turrets, barracks, kitchens, an infirmary, a fully operational power plant and a military museum — all perfectly preserved exactly as they were in 1940. The fort's 163-tonne artillery turret is demonstrated live during the visit. Winston Churchill and King George VI visited this very fort in December 1939. Allow yourself to be amazed by the scale and technical ingenuity of this underground city built to house over 1,000 soldiers. The fort maintains a constant temperature of 12°C year-round — bring a warm layer.

Begin and end your day in the heart of Metz, with the opportunity to admire the Gothic cathedral known as the "Lantern of God" — home to the largest collection of stained glass windows in the world, covering nearly 70,000 square feet. Featured in The Sun as one of Metz's must-see landmarks.
The cathedral itself is free to enter. Access to the crypt and tower is available at an additional cost of approximately €4.50 per person, payable on site.
