Dashashwamedh Ghat is known for its grand Ganga Aarti, which attracts thousands of visitors every evening. It’s considered one of the most spiritually vibrant places along the Ganges. According to legend, Lord Brahma performed ten Ashwamedha Yajnas (horse sacrifices) here to welcome Lord Shiva. This is how the ghat got its name (“Dasha” = ten, “Ashwamedha” = horse sacrifice). Dashashwamedh Ghat captures the true essence of Varanasi—spiritual energy, devotion, chaos, and beauty all in one place.
