You’ll learn about the region’s diverse wildlife, including the Japanese Sika Deer, and the possibility of spotting Asian Black Bears, Tanuki (Raccoon Dogs), or the Japanese Serow—a protected national monument. To deepen your understanding, enjoy a unique "hands-on" experience with upcycled deer antlers and hides. Touching these materials offers fascinating insights into the ecology of the Sika Deer and showcases the local commitment to living in harmony with nature. This interactive session ensures you know exactly what to look for before we head out into the wild.

An immersive journey into the quiet world of nocturnal wildlife. After the briefing, hop into our staff vehicle and head into the dark, scenic landscapes of Otsuchi. Led by a highly experienced guide who knows the local terrain by heart, you’ll be driven to the best vantage points based on the current season and weather conditions. At night, the animals are less cautious, offering a rare opportunity to observe them in their natural habitat. As you spot wildlife, your guide will provide live commentary on their hidden lives and mysterious behaviors. Depending on the night, we may encounter plenty of animals within a short drive from the start, or we might venture further afield for the best sightings. On clear evenings, we’ll take a brief moment to step out of the vehicle, breathe in the fresh night air, and marvel at the stunning starry sky above.
