The growth of Liverpool as a big port corresponded with the city's growth in the Industrial Revolution. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was most famous as a port. No wonder as the port was home to the Legendary RMS Titanic, RMS Lusitania, RMS Queen Mary and Olympic RMS register. Liverpool was the home of both the Cunard and White Star line and is the birthplace of the well-known Beatles rock band. It's also renowned for its Everton F.C soccer teams. Liverpool and F.C. Your Beatles Legend Fab Four Tour is a two-hour tour dedicated to the Beatles: where they grew up, met and formed the band that would storm the pop world, you will see every place connected with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. You will start your tour from the Albert Dock within 5 minutes time.

The Beatles Fab Four Tour starts with Ringo Starr’s childhood home at 10 Admiral Grove where he lived for 20 years before he became popular with the Beatles. Starr's childhood school, the St. Silas Primary School on Pengwern Lane, was only a stone's throw from its front door. He was a sick child and was taught to read and write at home, due to his numerous absences from school. In The Beatles Anthology, Starr is quoted as saying: "I don’t remember the inside of our house in Madryn Street". However, he does remember his grandparents' house, which was also in Madryn Street.

After a 10 minute journey this time you will visit George Harrison’s birthplace at 12 Arnold Grove. It's a small terraced house in a cul-de-sac, with a small alley in the back. In 1931, after their marriage, the parents of Harrison, Harold and Louise, moved to the house and lived there for almost 20 years. It wasn't a fancy life though as George Harrison says the main heating was a coal fire and the house was so cold in the winter that he needed to use the outside bathroom because his brothers did not want to get up in the morning as it was freezing. The house had tiny rooms and an iron kitchenette in the back room that used to be a kitchen. When Harrison was six years old, they moved to Speke on 2 January 1950 to a new council estate.

A few minutes later you will see Penny Lane made famous by the Beatles song of the same name, released in 1967. On Penny Lane, John Lennon and Paul McCartney met to pick up a bus. They shared their experiences at street level in their youth and were led to write the song, which was released in the ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ album and later on the 'Magical Mystery Tour' album. It is still a vibrant area, with independent companies lying along the road. Even in the same place in this song is a barber's shop.

Your next stop is the St. Peter’s Church Hall, where the first meeting between John and Paul took place. Here is the story: 6 July 1957 was a key day in modern music history. It was John Lennon’s first meeting with Paul McCartney. At the Garden Feast of St. Peter's Church, Woolton, the Quarrymen skiffle group played in the afternoon. On a stage behind the church, the performance was held in a field. In the band were Lennon (vocals, guitar), Eric Griffiths (guitar), Colin Hanton (drums), Rod Davies (banjo), Pete Shotton (washboard) and Len Garry (tea-chest bass). Here also you can see the gravestone of the lady "Eleanor Rigby" that is mentioned in their Revolver album in 1966. Well, who was Eleanor Rigby? Time to proceed to the famous Strawberry Field. (Commemorating the Central Park, NYC). Strawberry Field is a famous landmark for the Beatles in the town. It is a former children's home for the Salvation Army in Woolton suburb. The house was named after the Beatles single 'Strawberry Fields Forever' written by John Lennon in 1967. Young Lennon lived near Strawberry Field and enjoyed attending every summer's garden party. Today, fans can see the replica of the world-famous red gate through Strawberry Field. At the corner of the landmark is a kindergarten house for John Lennon, Mendips.

After a short walk, we will reach John Lennon's Childhood House that's 251 Menlove Avenue, Woolton, in the area known as Mendips after the Mendip hills. This lovely semi-detached house of the 1930s, owned by the aunt, Mimi and her husband George Smith, was where Lennon moved to when he was 5 years old. He remained at Mendips until he was 22 years old in mid-1963. In March 2002, Yoko Ono, Lennon's widow, purchased the house and donated it to the National Trust to save it from further demolition and land speculators. Yoko Ono said: "When John's house came up for sale I wanted to preserve it for the people of Liverpool and John Lennon and Beatles fans all over the world." The house was restored to its original look in the 1950s.

A short ride in Allerton town will bring you to Paul McCartney's home at 20 Forthlin Road, a council house where he lived between 1955 and 1964, and is now an estate of the National Trust. Paul McCartney lived there for many years until he became prominent in the Beatles and is called "the birthplace of the Beatles" by the National Trust. It was also the home of his brother Mike and the birthplace of the trio the Scaffold, of which Mike was a member.
