Deutsches Eck (الركن الألماني)
Standing here at the Deutsches Eck, you are at one of Germany’s most symbolic locations, where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Notice how the waters often appear slightly different in color as they merge—this natural confluence has made Koblenz an important trading and military site for over two thousand years. Towering above us is the monumental statue of Emperor Wilhelm I, representing the unification of Germany in the 19th century. From this vantage point, you can already spot our next destination high above the Rhine—the impressive Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.

Seilbahn Koblenz
As we ascend in the cable car, take a moment to look down at the Old Town’s narrow streets and church towers, framed by the sweeping curves of the rivers. This ride offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the region, stretching across vineyards, hills, and historic landmarks. Opened for the 2011 Federal Garden Show, the cable car has quickly become a modern symbol of Koblenz, blending contemporary design with centuries of history beneath us.

قلعة إرنبرايتشتاين
Now at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, you are standing inside one of the largest preserved fortifications in Europe. The site has been occupied for over a thousand years, but much of what you see today reflects 19th-century Prussian military engineering. As you walk through the massive stone walls and open courtyards, imagine soldiers stationed here, guarding this strategic point above the Rhine. Beyond its military past, the fortress now houses exhibitions and cultural spaces. Be sure to step up to the viewing platforms—on a clear day, the views stretch far into the Rhine Valley and offer a breathtaking perspective of Koblenz below.

As we descend back toward the Old Town, the view shifts dramatically. The fortress slowly rises above us while the rivers widen into a grand landscape. From this angle, you can better appreciate why Koblenz developed here—the waterways were vital for transport, defense, and trade. Watch as boats pass beneath us, continuing a tradition of river travel that dates back centuries.

كنيسة القديس كاستور
Next, visit the Basilica of St. Castor, the oldest church in Koblenz, dating back to the early 9th century. Its Romanesque architecture is characterized by thick walls, rounded arches, and a sense of solidity that has allowed it to endure through wars and changing times. Just outside, you may notice a historic fountain with an unusual story—it commemorates a failed Napoleonic campaign, with an inscription that was ironically completed by opposing forces. This blend of history and humor is typical of Koblenz’s layered past.

ساحة اليسوعيين
Welcome to Jesuitenplatz, one of the liveliest squares in the Old Town. Surrounded by elegant historic buildings, including the Town Hall, this square has long been a center of civic life. Today, it’s a place where locals gather, children play, and visitors pause at cafés. The architecture here reflects different periods, offering a visual timeline of the city’s development, while the atmosphere gives you a glimpse into modern Koblenz life.

فلورينس ماركت
Our final stop, Florinsmarkt, captures the romantic charm of Koblenz’s Old Town. The square is framed by historic buildings, including the Florinskirche and traditional half-timbered houses that seem almost frozen in time. This area once served as a marketplace and remains a social hub today. It’s the perfect place to end the tour—perhaps with a glass of local Riesling—while reflecting on the centuries of history, culture, and everyday life you’ve just experienced in Koblenz.
