تقع قلعة روس على مدخل بحيرة لين. يُرجّح أن الزعيم الأيرلندي أودونوهيو مور بناها في القرن الخامس عشر. رسوم الدخول: للبالغين: ٥.٠٠ يورو. تقول الأسطورة إن أودونوهيو لا يزال نائمًا تحت مياه البحيرة. كل سبع سنوات، في صباح أول يوم من شهر مايو، يستيقظ على حصانه الأبيض الرائع. إذا تمكنت من رؤيته، ستنعم بحظ سعيد طوال حياتك. كانت قلعة روس آخر مكان في مونستر صامدًا في وجه كرومويل. وقد استمد المدافعون عنها، بقيادة اللورد ماسكيري آنذاك، ثقتهم من نبوءة مفادها أن القلعة لا يمكن الاستيلاء عليها إلا بسفينة. وانطلاقًا من هذه النبوءة، أطلق القائد الكرومويلي، الجنرال لودلو، قاربًا كبيرًا على البحيرة. وعندما رأى المدافعون ذلك، سارع ذلك إلى الاستسلام - وتحققت النبوءة.

تأسس دير موكروس برعاية دونال "آن ديامه" ماكارثي عام ١٤٤٨. قرر جد دونال الأكبر، كورماك ماكارثي مور، تأسيس دير بعد أن ظهرت له الفكرة في رؤيا. قرر بناء الدير على صخرة كاريج نا تشيويل (صخرة الموسيقى). أُرسل رجال للبحث عنه، لكنهم لم يتمكنوا. وبينما مروا بإيريلاغ، سمعوا موسيقى رائعة تنبعث من صخرة، فعثروا أخيرًا على الموقع. بعد عشرين عامًا من البناء (عام ١٤٦٨)، مُنح غفران بابوي للمساعدة في استكمال المباني المحيطة بدير موكروس. في عام ١٦١٢، عاد الرهبان إلى المباني القديمة، وتم ترميمها بالكامل عام ١٦١٧. وفي عام ١٦٥٢، طُردوا الرهبان واضطهدوا على يد قوات كرومويل. في عام ١٩٢٩، أقيم أول قداس كبير منذ العصور الجزائية في أنقاض دير موكروس بحضور أكثر من ٢٨٠٠ من الرهبان الفرنسيسكان.
