This workshop presents kanji writing as a form of hands-on cultural practice rather than a simple language lesson. Participants experience the act of writing as a disciplined process, where each character carries traces of Japanese aesthetics and ways of thinking. As the brush moves across the paper, hesitation, tension, clarity, and flow become visible in the lines themselves. The written character functions like a mirror, revealing the writer’s state of mind in real time. Through repetition, correction, and refinement, both the form of the character and the writer’s awareness gradually settle into balance.
