One of the most remarkable Maya archaeological sites in Central America, Copán Ruins is located in western Honduras, overlooking a tributary of the Motagua River. Reached via a scenic 5-hour drive from San Salvador, it is an ideal full-day cultural experience.
Copán is renowned for its finely carved temples, ceremonial plazas, stelae, ball court, tunnels, and the famous Hieroglyphic Stairway, the longest known Maya inscription. Flourishing between 400–800 A.D., it was a major cultural center. Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site offering a deep journey into Maya history.

Explore the legendary Copán Ruins on an in-depth guided walking tour led by a world-class, certified guide specialized in Maya archaeology. Discover the site’s most important areas, including ceremonial plazas, carved stelae, altars, and the ancient ball court, while gaining valuable insight into Maya politics, religion, and daily life.
Key highlights of the visit include the impressive Hieroglyphic Stairway, the longest known Maya inscription, and other iconic structures within the main archaeological complex. Please note that the underground tunnels, the Temple of Rosalila, and the Sculpture Museum are not included in the standard tour. However, these exclusive areas can be added upon request for an additional cost, subject to availability.
Guests are encouraged to ask questions throughout the tour, ensuring a deeper and more engaging understanding of Maya culture, architecture, and history.
