Todai-ji Temple
Todaiji Temple, located in Nara, Japan, is a historically significant and architecturally impressive site, founded in 752 CE by Emperor Shomu as the head temple of all provincial Buddhist temples. Its centerpiece, the Great Buddha Hall (Daibutsuden), houses one of the largest bronze statues of Buddha (Vairocana) in the world, standing about 15 meters tall and weighing approximately 500 tons. The hall itself is one of the largest wooden structures on Earth.
